I suggest you ...

Account settings are unreadable with a dark phone theme

The account settings (email, password etc.) are shown as black on a dark background at least when the phone theme is dark colored. This leads to the settings being completely unreadable.

Text fields are now colored in a different way. This should fix the Black on black problem with the all the menus.

Avatar editor has now a backround picture instead of the theme backround,
so the black texts are allways readable.
( The "Options" and "Back" texts are not entirely clear tought.)

If you have any problems with unredable colors, with any theme with any phone, please report the phone and the theme.

If you are in helpfull mood, adding a url to screenshot would be nice too. ( Unfortunately it is not possible to upload pictures here. )

Changing to a theme with light backround (...if one exists for you phone...) is a good workaround before this is fixed.

I'm experiencing the same 'problem' when using N95 8GB. It's still usable, for now, but needs fixing :-)

All defaul themes in N96 are with black canvas, so this affects all N96 users who are using default themes.

Same for me with an e61i, I had to skip the whole avatar modification part

In fact, many other settings are shown black-on-black and so was the avatar in the editor when initially creating an account.
