iPhone selection tool suggestion

Why not instead of creating new tools (like X-ray), you could make a iphone onscreen joystick for moving selection square around and behind obstacles?

It could be a menu that opens when you click on the editor, which is 50% transparent. Doesnt have to take up screen space all the time. Dont see any disadvantages to this.
Also maybe just 4 arrows rather than a joystick? Sounds.... Fiddly... -

well, you can take an example from gmail app, for nokia 5800. There is a joystick made with buttons bug it makes the screen more little... It would be better to use the touchscreen like a mouse. And when you click the chat to write it opens the default keyboard of the phone. I´m writting right now from my 5800 keyboard. thanks

That is actually third of the planned options. However, it feels a bit surrendering to make an onscreen joystick :). But definetely something that we keep in mind for "just in case".
